The story of Proxy Paradise began in 2021 in a small workshop in a garage. As avid tabletop wargamers, we sat together and talked shop about our armies and how we could further customize them. Let's be honest, all of us hobby nerds love to have unique miniatures. But since we all have to manage our free time these days (job, family, friends, hobbies, sports, etc.), the elaborate conversions we used to do were out of the question. So we discussed the challenges of finding high-quality and unique bits for our miniatures. No sooner said than done. There were already a lot of incredibly talented artists on the market. But unfortunately, there was no way to print these cool models and bits. So we made a bold decision: We wanted to create the solution ourselves.
From experiments to small series
We started our experiments with a filament 3D printer and a handful of models. Our first attempts were disappointing (to say the least). Filament wasn't the right choice. So, we needed a resin printer. Here, too, we paid a lot of tuition. But every failure taught us something new. After countless night shifts and liters of wasted resin (a necessary evil), we finally held our first usable bits in our hands.
The jump into the cold water
The transition from hobby to (small) business presented us with unexpected challenges. Suddenly, we had to deal with accounting, marketing, and logistics—areas in which we were complete novices. However, our passion for the hobby drove us forward. We invested every available cent in better equipment and materials.
Breakthrough with renowned studios
Our first major success came with the renowned design studio "GreytideStudio." We acquired our first licenses and set up a small shop on Etsy.
The first small sales started, and the feedback for our bits and our service was breathtaking. The response overwhelmed us.
In some cases, we were unable to keep up with printing to replenish stocks.

This positive experience reinforced our vision: We wanted to enrich the tabletop wargaming scene with innovative, high-quality conversion bits . Our goal: to give players the opportunity to make their armies truly unique without spending a fortune. With this impetus, we set about expanding our team and improving our capabilities.
